Butter Biscuits

My mom used to make these as tea time snacks and we (my brother and myself) would complain they were way too simple and boring and why she hadn't made tarts and cakes and brownies instead. Yea absolutely spoilt we were when we were in school and my husband would say I still am, but 4 years of marriage has taught you to ignore him at times (or maybe even most of the time).
I just cannot get them right whatsoever. Its never crunchy, the dough consistency doesn't turn out well and when it comes to icing it..I'm quite clumsy. So this is the first of my 'no recipe' series (see I wasn't joking about that!) and a ruined one at that.
There are tonnes of recipes online so I'm not posting them here. In spite of the cookies being a mess, I still ate them wholeheartedly:)
Enjoy!
There's yellow icing in case you are not able to figure:O
Boring design...I know!!!

  9. Hey Nisha, cheer up! Even I (just) had a mishap in kitchen...tried to create magic and it ended up a bit too sweet for my tooth :)

I don't find anything wrong with it. No one would have known that it didn't come out fine, if you hadn't told us :)

  20. Well, they look very good to me: slightly crunchy for the first bite and a bit moist inside, with a buttery taste...
I find the pictures very poetic, with the delicate swirl and slightly misty at the background.

  21. If you look to the biscuit ther eis nothing wrong with it, i think we all criticise ourself when we make something which our mom made when we were young as we think we can't beat moms cooking.

  27. Nisha, I took a lazy blogging break (irrelevant) but wanted you to know that I kept reading your posts in Google reader (relevant) and I kept having ROFL or LOL moments at all your trials and tribulations (very relevant) even though I never took the time to comment (irrelevant again, but so relevant to us bloggers). I wish i had gotten in on your poll, I would have been the wierdo that clicked on ALL THE ABOVE.

  29. Hi Nisha,
The mini casserole is not a real LeCreuset, I bought it in a CASA shop. (I think do you find CASA in UK) :-)
